If your eReader fails to respond, first try recharging it and powering it off and on. If that doesn't work, you may need to reset it.
There are two kinds of resets:
A basic reset, which doesn't affect the content of your eReader.
A factory reset, which will restore your eReader's factory defaults (this removes any books on your eReader).
A basic reset will usually help. Don't perform a factory reset unless all other troubleshooting attempts fail.

My reader is not responding to any of the above instructions. It is totally blank. The only sign of life is the blinking green signal at the top left corners edge. I don`t know if the reader is on or off. The screen is a dull matt yellowish grey. I appears to have a dim glow to it, but I don`t know whether that signigfies life or death. Can`t be death with the green signal light on, can it

Unfortunately, that is the only way to revive the Kobo. I am afraid it is a failure internally with the main board.
