Customer Question

When I click on a link, then I get an ad (about half the time) that says, "Your system is infected with Spyware." It's really annoying and sometimes it won't let me close the window. Is there anything I can do to avoid those pop-up ads? Doing control-alt-delete
is getting rather tiresome. There is another thing that I also find annoying. I don't care for the video ads when I'm on random sites. How can I block those? I'm using Google Chrome. Thanks!

Hi,
I'm sorry about the issue. In Chrome, please try the followings:
- Please click on the 3-bar icon at the upper right corner, then click on Settings
(or click on the Chrome menu at the top, then click on Preferences)
, then scroll down to the bottom, then click on "Show advanced settings" if shown
, then scroll down to the bottom, then click on Reset (or refresh) and confirm reset / refresh
, then check
; if needed, quit Chrome, then re-open it and check.
Please let me know. Thank you.

I tried doing that, and I still get the Adchoice ads and I still get those pop-up ads saying my "identity has been compromised". What do I do now?

Can you install the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware program at the website below:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/confirm/

, then restart the computer and check. If needed, reset Chrome again, and check.

- If that does not work, download and install the AdwCleaner program:

https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/

, then close all programs, then scan your computer with the AdWCleaner program

, then restart the computer, and check.

Please let me know. Thank you.

Close all Internet Explorer program / windows.
Click Start , and then click Control Panel.
Open Network and Internet, open Internet Options.

- If Chrome still does not work fine, go to Start->Control Panel->User Accounts->Manage another account, and create a new account, and select the Administrator option when prompted, then restart the computer, then log in the new account, and see if Chrome works fine in the new account.
Please let me know. Thank you.
