i mac. error message "Cannot send message using server AOL". tried to verify settings --no avail. tried to engage image challenge, site say "site not available", "timed out""

Whats the issue you encounter when you fail to sign into it?

Can you remove the power from your internet modem and wait 5 minutes.
While waiting power off the computer.
Then power on the internet modem and wait 5 minutes.
Then power on the computer and tell me if you can now get to
http://mail.aol.com

did as you asked -- in that order.
Clicked on link, got blank page -- had a "connecting" bar at bottom of screen but it did not advance.
have two mailboxes on aol. maxfordco (which does not display any in or out mail), and gumbogoo which does display in and out mail --but nothing new since yesterday.

Click on Download in the top right.
Go down to "TeamViewer Quicksupport"
Click on Download and download and run the program.
It will give you an ID and a Password.
Please give me the ID (leave a space between each character eg: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9) and the password ***** your next message to me here.
Do not close the program, but leave it open.
I can then connect to your computer.
