I have an external DVD / Blue ray player.I have a HDMI

Customer Question

I have an external DVD / Blue ray player.
I have a HDMI (which connects to the external DVD/BD player) to DisplayLink cable - it came when I bought the Lenovo.
How do I get the computer to recognize video from the DVD player through the DisplayLink cable?
Again, the cable is HDMI on the DVD player side, and DisplayLink to plug into the Lenovo (because the Lenovo does not have an HDMI port)?

Thanks for your question. My name is ***** ***** I look forward to assisting you.
It cannot work this way, it works in the opposite manner. The Lenovo uses the Display link to display its video to another monitor or device.
It is not for displaying video from an external device on the monitor.
This you cannot do as it only displays its own signal.
You can see how it works here
