Are you trying to change the audio settings in BIOS?
I am trying to get some type of sound to the speakers
Please restart the computer and repeatedly press the F2/Del key as soon as the computer restarts.
Try both keys, however one at a time.
Are you chatting from the same computer?
yes I am. have another I can use right next to me.
Do you see an up arrow on the taskbar? on bottom right corner?
Along with the time and speaker icon?
Click the arrow and select Realtek HD Audio manager (another speaker icon).
Double click the Realtek HD Audio manager to open it.
Click the Speakers tab.
On the right pane, do you see Device Advanced Settings?
Do you see that, with Analog back panel and front panel?

What are the options do you see over there?
Anything says Analog?

Could you please select connector settings?
about - version 220.127.116.1153 - directx version Directx 11.0 - Audio controller HD audio Audio Codec: ALC892
connector setting chooices are AC97 front panel or HD Audio front panel
Choose the other one and check if your front panel is working.
First, try AC97 front panel and then try HD Audio front panel.
Have HD plugged in on mother board
Have you tried changing both and check the front audio?
Yes have plugged in one at a time and tried to obtain sound from speaker or head phone. no joy. is there some where in the bios setup that we can go to?
Please get into BIOS setup and you will get an Audio option to change. Please do that, and come back.
Let me know if the issue persists.
