I am using Corel X3 on a new Windows 8 (Acer E1-571) laptop.

All programs work except Quattro Pro which, when launched gives the following message

"Runtime Error!
Program Fils (x86)//WP Office DANGEROUS URL REMOVED
Abnormal Program Termination".

The message window is headed "MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ Runtime Libray"

I have reload the X3 suite but still get the message.

My PS support guys determined that there was "an MS register which needed resetting" whic he did but the runtime error is back again.

I was told when I bought the laptop this year that Corel X3 is still compatible with Windows 8 - is this correct?

Thanks for your question. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I look forward to assisting you.

No sorry, it is not compatable, and this is why you are having the problem.

X3 will not run on Windows 8 due to the libary changes that have occurred in this new version.

This is why you are getting the runtime error. As it is looking for files that do not exist within Windows 8 anymore.
