Hello and welcome to JustAnswer. My name is XXXX XXX I will be your expert today.
When Staples sold you your computer, did they do any preconfiguration for you?
Anyway you could call us?
They were trying to a data transfer on a new computer they sold us.
Unfortunately, JustAnswer's policy restricts our conversation to this chat.
Okay, there are two ways to have this resolved. The easiest, though not necessarily reliable, is to call Staples and ask for the password.
Said hard drive was too old.
That's not true, unless the hard drive is broken.
They are closed. We need it for our store that opens at 7am.
Its dry cleaning software
If they are unable to do so, the second method to resolve this is to reset the password XXXXX a third party application.
Were they able to successfully migrate the software to your new computer?
No said it was too old need new cords that take 4 days to arrive
Need to be in businesses tomorrow
So you are trying to access your old computer again, or the new computer that is missing the software?
just need to get passed psssword that they did not tell me
Okay, do you know which version of Windows it's running? XP, 7, or 8?
Did your computer come with a Windows Recovery Disc, or have an option to boot into Windows Recovery?
Looking for disks. I may have left them someplace. I sent someone to look.
Not sure. Looking for disks. But it will be 20
Not sure about disks. Looking but it will be 20 minutes until they get back
Not sure how to do revovery
Not sure on either
Well, I might have a quicker way.
Please follow the steps as outlined in this video. It may be difficult to understand, but there are subtitles in place.
You will have to download the software mentioned in the video on another computer.
You will then create a "Live CD" on either a blank disc or on a USB memory stick.
You will then insert the disc/stick in your new computer and follow the steps to reset the password.
I will try
This should work for you, but if it doesn't just let us know and we can continue to work with you.
