Please help! I am trying to use the cd that came with the computer to restore the computer but when I click on the cd in "my computer" i get this . "Run time error '-2147023838 (80070422)': Automation error. The Service cannot be started either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it."

Can you please tell me the title of the CD is it the dell recovery CD?

To use this you need to restart rhethe computer and then press F12

Then select CD/DVD ROM

The cd says "drivers and utilities" contents are device drivers and diagnostics and utilities

That's not the recovery CD

When I followed the instructions I was given a choice between 1 (run the 32 bit dell diagnostic) and q (return to dos) and choice number 1 did not work

I am trying to get my computer to work again all of a sudden the internet and programs all stopped working and the pc won't recognize the cd drive. Also it will not let me restore to a previous time

Press the (Down Arrow) to select Repair Your Computer on the Advanced Boot Options menu, and then press Enter.
* Specify the language settings that you want, and then click Next.
* Log in as a user who has administrative credentials, and then click OK.
* Click Dell Factory Image Restore.
* In the Dell Factory Image Restore window, click Next.
* Click to select the check box for Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition.
* Click Next. The computer is restored to the default factory configuration.
* When the restore operation is completed, click Finish to restart the computer.
