I have an Acer predator 2 days ago I had a bluescreen of death did not catch details, but after the blue screen it said default overclocking failed. After restarting booting up takes up to 40 minutes and after its fully booted every program even explorer.exe is very slow.
How can I fix this and get my computer running back to peak performance?
Did you overclock the CPU?
It came factory overclocked
There is the full specs
have you tried going into the BIOS and then settings to default settings
Yeah went into bios and pressed f8 which was the default settings
Also took out the battery and forced cmos reset
try creating a ubuntu live cd
and then boot to the CD to see if you're still having performance issues
if you do then its hardware realted
if not then it's os related and may need to reinstall windows
Let me try that
Do you have a link to a live cd
I thought the new ubuntu crew got rid of the live cd
it's part of ubuntu desktop
there's an option to trial the software before installling it
I will try the same with my windows 7 copy
I have another copy
