how did you go?
so you're in diag mode?
that means no blue screen. :)
Oh ok we can cancel one of the questions
and refund the money
yes there will be internet with diag
so type msconfig again
what we just did is proved that there is possibly something in the startup or the services that is causing the blue screen
so we need to work out which one is causing the problem.
in the general
select normal startup
you will see disable all
click on that and all the startup service will be disabled
this will determine whether it's your startup programs or your services (there is also a services tab next to it) that is causing the problem
did you click on the startup tab
at the top
At the top of the windows there is General, Boot, Services, Startup and Tools
no under startup
ok so now click apply and restart and see if you get the blue screen
ok no worries
go back into safe mode
by pressing F8
also do you see an option - Last Known Working Configuration?
is it stuck there?
so it's not in safe mode?
go back to msconfig
go to the services tab
and disable all
so now it will be a process of elimination to see what cause the blue screen
once you select disable all
does it disable any?
ok go back to the general tab
and select diagnostic
like what we did before
then boot into windows normally and select disable all in services
ok just leave it checked... maybe those are causing the problem
that's a windows service
wow what is that
yeah i can see
it is definately !11.dat?
you can use wikisend.com
upload the photo there and then provide me with the download link
can you go back into safe mode?
ok let me check
are you able to get into safe mode?
cancel out of that
ok let it run
it's not really a DLL file
it's a DAT file
a data file for a particular program that you have installed
yeah the repair takes a while
pretty much all the services are disabled?
ok select the first one
and work your way down
once you get the blue screen we will know which one is causing the problem
you can half it if you want
as long as we work out which one it is
3/4 to go
you can later do a search for that file name
to see which program it's related to
the image you sent me?
that error message is related to a particular program
we can look at that once we know what causes the blue screen
getting any closer
let me check
is it lxdj
i don't see anything relating to lxdj
I don't have it listed on my computer
so must be something specific to yours
what does it say next to manufacturer?
in the services tab?
perform a search
for the file l11h.dat
it should be located under program files
is that when you did the update?
sorry I mean is that when you did the update: on tuesday?
for searching use a tool called grepwin http://tools.tortoisesvn.net/grepWin.html
did you use grepwin? for the search?
yes that's freeware
sorry what do you mean?
you're trying to download grepwin
try just c:
just incase there are others
i'm not sure i can't tell
maybe don't include that
just have 11h.dat
isn't it the .dat file not .dll?
or is there another message that appears before the one you sent through?
