I have a Plantronics 655 Headset

can you believe it i have the 400 model

do you have the speaker icon on the bottom right hand corner near the time?

can you right click on that

and select playback devices

do you see headset earphone?

I right clicked on playback devices and it said, "Speakers (My 655 Headset and my second choice is the coexant Smart Audio HD."

ok right click on it and select Test and see whether the green bar goes up and down

I can't test it because I see the rotating circle icon.

I have tried to test the voice recording and I'm getting nothing.

On the second port, it can't even recognize it.

Yes, it detects the headset, but it will say, "No jack information available. I can hear audio, but it won't transmit sound."

and you still can't click on the Listen tab?

Customer:

I can click on the listen tab, and I can hear the audio just fine, but I can't talk into it.

sorry I meant Levels instead of Listen

if you click on that

set the level to maximum and also make sure that the speaker doesn't have the red sign next to it

Something is really weird. My internal microphone can recognize my voice, but the headset won't.

I'm thinking if I uninstall it and then install it, then it will correct the problem.

the only way to confirm whether it's the unit is to see if it works on your friends computer

if it doesn't then it's definately a fault with the unit
