Im want to use camstudio on my computer. But I get this message

Resolved Question:

I'm want to use camstudio on my computer. But I get this message when I try to launch it. "the program can't start because mfc100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem". But that didn't work.

Hi, thank you for asking your question today.

I suggest you download/install the Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package.

Once uninstalled, please run Start > All Programs > Windows Update to ensure your computer is up to date. Afterwards, please attempt the installation of CamStudio.

Toby, just restarted my computer. Will attempt to download camstudio.

Still can't run camstudio after updates. I'm done with Camstudio. I don't want to pursue it further.

Are you receiving the same error? If so, try downloading/installing the 64bit version of the link I provided earlier:

64bit Link

Once installed, perform the following steps:

  1. 1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

  2. 2. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

  3. sfc /scannow

  4. The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

Now, see if you are able to install CamStudio after those steps. Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

From what I've seen, the latest version of CamStudio is causing this error. The previous packages should have installed that dll though.
