Hi, I will assist with this issue.
This was a scam. No support company or Microsoft would ever call you for any computer support (you would call them first.) This is usually a scam in order to get your money and/or to get your information on your computer. There are articles about this kind of scam: http://www.scambook.com/report/view/140407/KBK-INFOTECH-KOLKATA-INDIA-Complaint-140407-for-$92.25 http://www.microsoft.com/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx
What's the error message when opening desktop icons?
Please try this: turn off your computer. Then turn it on, and right after the black screen with white text or the computer company logo disappears, press & release key F8 repeatedly until a menu appears, then you select Safe Mode with Networking (note: if there is no menu, then try the same steps again, but this time, press key F8 a bit earlier). Then login and click Start->all programs->accessories->system tools->system restore and restore the computer to any date before this issue has occurred.
Next, please go to Safe Mode with Networking again, then go to the website: http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php , then click on the green or blue Download Now button to download and install the Malwarebytes Anti-malware software. Then scan your computer: (Do not buy anything; just use its free feature.) , then restart the computer normally, and check.
No message just won't do anything
Can you try my two suggestions above, then let me know later via this web page?

If it does not work, download and save the two files below to your computer:http://www.winhelponline.com/fileasso/exe_fix_w7.ziphttp://www.winhelponline.com/fileasso/lnk_fix_w7.zip, then right-click on each file, then extract it, then open each extracted file and confirm merge/yes (ignore any error message), then restart the computer and check.
If all fails, please let me know; I will find another solution. Thank you,
All seems to be working now Thank you
