I use the right mosue button frequesntly. Recently a problem has occurred. I'll right click to rename a file , folder or do another operation and i get the circular processing icon. After about 3 minutes I am able to continue with the operation. I have a laptop, using Windows 7os, 64 bit. This is a recent problem over the past month or so.

Hi,Thank You!! for posting your Question. My name is XXXXX XXXXX today I will assist you to solve or identify your problem.
1. Have you made any changes on your computer prior to the issue?
2. Does it happen only on desktop or with any other applications as well?
Of course there have been changes. I bought the laptop over 2 years ago. It's been updated with the latest improvements from microsoft re secrutiy and software.
I am giving some steps, please perform the following troubleshooting methods and let me know, how it goes for you instead of rating the answer.
Set the computer to clean boot state and then check if this fixes the issue.
To set the computer in clean boot, follow the steps from the link: How to perform a clean boot
Note: After checking in clean boot, follow step: 7 from the article to reset the computer to normal boot.
Perform System File Check to fix the corrupted system files and then check how it works.
Refer the link "How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7" to perform System File Check.
Note: It may ask for windows DVD to fix and to enable SFC to make more than minor repairs. Some files saved on your computer might get deleted when fixing corrupted files.
Download Microsoft Safety Scanner, then scan your computer for virus and malwares then check how it works.
You can download Microsoft Safety Scanner from the link "Microsoft Safety Scanner".
Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

I did method 3 first...no viruses.
I did clean boot and that solved the problem. How do I find out which of the items not booted with the clean boot are the problems?
You can check the services one by one and then see the result. Please rate my answer positively, as your problem is not solved.
