I have a lenovo b570 laptop, and an hp pavilion desktop.I have tried and tried to connect the tw, so my husband and I can both be online at the same time. Needless to say, the results have been negative. My router is an AT&T @-wire, which is wireless capable. If anyone can help me, please do so....thankXXX@XXXXXX.XXX
Optional Information: Computer OS: Windows 7 Browser: AOL Already Tried: going into the security area of both, to no avail- I'm not very computer savvy. I've also contacted h-p : they say it is a problem with the laptop, but I never have a problem with connecting when I'm at other homes ro places. I just have no idea - I keep getting a message on the laptop about the homegroup...
Welcome to JustAnswer.comMy name is XXXXXX, XXX X am one of the experts who will assist you today! So its only one laptop, that cannot connect wirelessly?Or both computers cannot connect wirelessly?
it's just one laptop,i cant connect at home, but when i go to my daughters house in another city, i can connect in about 5 seconds. the desktop has no problems at all with connection.
Thanks.. The laptop itsself.. If you connect via an ethernet cable, does it also get internet at your home?If so.. Then it may be best if we do a remote support session, where i can connect to you, and to that laptop specifically in order to try and resolve the issue in person. Would you be willing to try that type of support, or would you rather we work through the issue via email?
i'm sorry' i'm not sure if i have an ethernet cable... if you want me to check, i will.... just one question, though-- i don't have to worry about my info or anything do i??
Not at all.. Ive worked here over 3 years, I like my job! Im not interested in your files or info, only your wireless settings and software that needs to be fixed..
ok i am looking for a cacable
Excellent.. If you didnt have t he laptop already connected.. Was it getting internet in another fashion? ( no need to stop looking for the cable though.. )
no- only when i'm somewhere else. the tech for h-p asked why i wanted to connect the laptopwhen i already had the desktop!!!!
Wow, Imagine you actually needing both computers working at home? Such unreasonable demands! Ok.. The desktop computer itself.. Is it wirelessly connected to your home internet? Or is it connected via a long cable to your modem or router?
no its connected via an ethernet cable to an at&t 2-wire router which has ground and wireless capabilities
Thanks. Maybe its best, if I connect to you on this computer ( the desktop) So that I can access the router, make sure its wireless portion is setup and working properly.. Would you like to try that?
yes, please. just let me know what i need to do.
