Hi, thank you for using JustAnswer.com. My name is XXXXX XXXXX X am glad to assist you today.

I am sorry but all email addresses posted here are masked to XXX@XXXXXX.XXX for security reasons.

Please tell me the tail or domain name part of the 2 emails.

Email 1: @?????.???
Email 2: @?????.???

Which email account would you like to eliminate? (Email 1 or 2)
Are you using a web browser like Internet Explorer to access these emails? Or are you using an email program like MS Outlook 2007 or 2010?

Please let me know so that I can help you further.

Best regards,
Jess

I do not know what a " tail " or " domain " is or how to find it for you. I usually access FB through a link in an e-mail to me in MS Outlook 2007.

Hi Bert, thank you for writing back.

I was referring to the part of the email address starting with the @ sign, like @gmail.com. If you post the full email address, it appears XXXXX@XXXXXX.XXX for security reasons.

I want to eliminate the @yahoo.com and move everything to @tampabay.rr.com

Thank you for that information.

Since you are using MS Outlook 2007 for your emails, you can just delete the @yahoo.com email in your Outlook and just leave there the @tampabay.rr.com account. All of the other emails under Yahoo.com in your Outlook must be moved to the @tampabay.rr.com email folders. After that, delete the @yahoo.com account.

However, in your Outlook, are the emails stored in their corresponding "Inbox"? For instance, you have 2 accounts: yahoo and rr.com. Do you have Inbox folder for Yahoo and another Inbox folder for rr.com?

If that is the case, MOVE or copy all of the emails from the Inbox folder under yahoo.com to the Inbox folder of rr.com. You can do this by dragging the emails from the Yahoo inbox to the inbox folder of rr.com. That is, click Inbox under Yahoo email to display all emails. Then select the emails like a group of 10 or 20, then drag them to the Inbox folder under rr.com, then drop them there. Do this until all emails from Yahoo inbox are moved or copied to the Inbox folder under rr.com.

When you are done with this, delete the yahoo.com email account. Click on Tools => Account Settings. In the window that opens, click on the yahoo.com email in the list of emails, then click on the REMOVE button above.

I hope that helped. Keep me posted with your results so that I can help you further.

Best regards,
Jess

I do not wish to eliminate the @yahoo.com account. I use it for other purposes. I merely want to disassociate it completly from FB. I do not see those directions in your replies.

I am sorry about that. You did not tell me that it is what you wanted from the very start. Your question was about eliminating the one account, FB was never mentioned in the question.

By "disassociate it completely from FB", it appears that you want emails from FB to NOT go to the yahoo.com but to the rr.com. Is that what you want? If it is so, then you need to change your email associated with your FB account.

Here are the steps:

  1. Login to your FB account
  2. Click on the small down-arrow near Home and then click "Account Settings"

  3. In the Account Settings screen, click on Edit link opposite the Email item in the list. In the middle of the Email row, you should see your Primary email. Click on the Edit link on the right of that

  4. In the next screen or page, you shall see your primary email. Click on the link which says "Add another email"
  5. Then you ADD the rr.com email there. Then you need to enter your password XXXXX proceed with the adding of the new email then you will be sent a link to verify that you own the email account. Check your email there and click on the link.
  6. If you already have the 2 emails there and you want to change your Primary email to rr.com, then in the emails select rr.com and not Yahoo.com.
  7. Save your changes

I hope that helped. Keep me posted with your results so that I can help you further.

Best regards,
Jess
