How is a cd drive removed from a Satellite mod# XXXXX
Hi,Do you mean the cd drive is not working, or do you want to remove the cd drive device from the computer?Thank you.
Hi - its not working, no lights, no spin. The driver is up to date and is reported working fine at device manager
Do you have windows xp, vista, or 7?Does it show the cd drive letter in (My) Computer? What's the item you see under CD/DVD drives in Device Manager? Thank you.
It's a Vista, Mashita DVD-Ram UJ- 850S ATA Device, shown in device manager, DVD RW Drive (D;) , shown in my computer
It may be a hardware issue with the cd/dvd drive, but please try the following and see:Please click on Start, then right-click on Computer, then click on Manage, then click on Device Manager, then open DVD/CD drives, and right-click on the item(s) under it and click on Uninstall and confirm, then restart the computer and check. If that does not work, please click http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116, then click on Run now, to download and save, then run the automatic cd/dvd fix.If that still does not work,
its still not seen, even after a restart, I tried all three
after trying all three ways, and a restart, its still not working, how do I get at the data plug to make sure it's good?
Sorry, I'm not sure about your last question. Do you mean the connection / cable? Thank you.
