Our business ported a verizon business phone number to Google Voice. Previously, our domain name email was managed by verizon. When we ported the verizon number to google voice, did google or google voice become our email service provider? We have and use email through Outlook, which previously was integrated with verizon, but now I don't know who is the provider for our email. We don't receive a bill from verizon (they say they have nothing to do with our email anymore), nor Google. The reason I'm asking for this information is that I'm having trouble with some senders who can't send some .pdf documents to my domain email address and I wanted to check out why, i.e., whether it exceeded a memory limit, etc.
Hiya, My name is XXXX XXX I've been repairing and upgrading computers for over 10 years, I will help you to the best of my ability.
Could you tell me what is after the @ symbol of the mail address in question?
Thanks Mike
our domain name is "keiterlaw.com"
And this also appears after the @ symbol in your email address?
yes, to the right of @
Ok thankyou, Im going to take just a moment to look into your domain
JEFFREY A KEITER ATTY AT LAW 226 W CHOCOLATE AVE HERSHEY, PA 17033 US Domain Name: KEITERLAW.COM Administrative Contact, Technical Contact: JEFFREY A KEITER ATTY AT LAW
the domain is managed by Network Solutions, but that is not the service provider for email
Oh, how did they get involved?
Absolutely no idea how exactly, somebody has changed it over
How do I contact them to ask email questions?
I am still looking for you :-)
I am certain that they must be in control of your email as well which is in association to the website hosted by them. I will get you contact details now
Ok email support through Network Solutions phone support directly to email support is 1-888-793-7657
http://www.networksolutions.com/contact/index.jsp
Here is more information for you.
So, even though Network Solutions said they don't handle my email, this other server does?
Its extremely hard to tell, usually the email with the given extension of your website is handled through the website provider ie Network Solutions. Somebody in relation to your business needs to know which company to contact regarding your email. There are thousands of companies that are capable of hosting this email with that extension. I will try my very best to get you information on the servers and dig deeper.
Also if you go into outlook and look at your email account settings you will be able to view where the email sends and receives from which would help also to determine who to contact.
Thanks. This is really bizarre since we don't get any bill from anyone regarding email per se. Verizon asked us to consent to having Google apps at Verizon handle our email, but I can find nothing and can't get a live person to ask a question to.
Ok have found something out
the 2 servers mentioned OTHERGUY.GTE.NET for example are verizon hosting domains
I called Verizon and they said we are not even in their records for email, internet, etc.!!
