It sounds suspicious, it could be a phishing email. Phishing is a technique used to get you to devulge private account information in order to take over your account.
I'd be more than happy to confirm it if you wish to copy and paste the message here for me. Otherwise I would quickly delete it and never give person information via email, especially anyone asking for a password, credit card number, social security number etc. Regardless of how authentic it may look.
