I am in
please show me the error
I'll start checking...I'll be controlling
i have windows updates that wont install,,just thought it was faster to show that error using java
I'll reboot it from here.....need to make sure the unregister/register kicked in
sfc takes a while....
seen it :)
I'll look up a couple things and will be back
will reboot again....
ok...so it's working now :)
you had somehow uninstalled the windows installer
thats great,,,i seen that installer listed in there
yup
sometimes being listed does not mean it is actually active...
now that the updates are going through...that proves it is really working now :)
i read about that merge stuff you did,,but they said dont mess it up, or really bad things will happen,,so i left it alone,,,thank you so much
yeah...the registry can be tricky...
it's a very sensible thing..
now, truth to be told..
worst case scenario if you break it... you have to reinstall the operating system...
so no big deal...just a waste of time :)
one last ?--can that pc mechanic be doing anything it shouldnt,,its always fixing registry errors,,not sure if its doing the right thing
most of the time, those tools work fine...ocasionally they make matters worst....but for day to day use they are generally more helpful than not...
I gotta run...I have a very late night hockey game to play! :)
I am glad to have helped....
