My computer driver will not read my disks
Optional Information: Computer OS: Windows 7 Browser: Other Already Tried: upgrading the driver and upgrading windows
Hello my name is XXXX XXX I will assist you today. Please let me know when you are ready to start.
If your CD drive will not read any of your disks and you have updated the drivers its very possible that it has failed. Can you tell me if the drive spins with a disk inside?
it sounds like it's trying to but its not
So it starts to spin and then stops correct?
yea or it will makes sounds like its want to start spining
Please try the following. Please CLICK HERE and then download and run this program. If there are software issues with the drive this should fix it. If there are hardware issues this will not fix the issue. If it still does not fix it please proivde me your model number and make and I can tell you what replacement part you need. Replacing a DVD drive is fairly inexpensive and easy to do.
No, it seem like its a Hardware problem. Is the model number written on the computer?
Yes, it will be on the bottom
If you find a serial number or model number please provide. Is this a laptop or a dektop?
If its a desktop the model number will be on the back. if its a laptop it will be on the bottom
I have to run and do something for 4 minutes I will be right back
M/N: 7545Mi Also to let you know, it's a bluray and oddly enouph it will still read my blu ray disk but not anything else.
Hmm ok then the drive should not be bad
Did you use the fix it program I provided above
yes i did and it still will not work
What kind of video is not working? Is it a normal DVD?
Are you still there? Do you see my reply?

No worries I have kids too I understand
what program are you using to play the movies?
Its cyberlink power DVD
OK lets try another program to rule out a software issue, One moment I will get you a link
Click HERE when installing this please watch for check boxes as its going to ask you if you want to install third party programs remove the checks you do not want them
Once installed open up and see if the regular DVD's will play
No, I don't understand why it still will not work. I've tried several times with this media player and the player will not read any other disk as well.
I am not quite sure let me research this and get back to you
1. Please get into device manager. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.?2. In the right pane of device manager, you will see DVD/CD Rom drives. Double click on DVD/CD Rom drives to expand it. Under that, you will see your CD/DVD drive name. Right click on the CD/DVD drive name and select Uninstall.3. Close Device manager. then restart your computer and it will re install. Once re installed test your normal DVD's

Ok, I tried it and its still not reading any of my disk or files on my disk. Im at a loss for words, sorry for the trouble - I dont know whats wrong with it.
I believe the drive is malfunctioning
You may want to think about replacing it
Ok, is that pretty expensive?
Hmm, how many regular dvd disks did you try? Are those disks purchased from a store?
Umm let me check
Should not be too bad
Sorry my comment was from reading an earlier post that I thought you had just posted
How old is the PC?
a year
How long over the 1 year mark?
Not long at all , maybe a couple of months
That is good news, you have a good possibily of having it replaced under the warranty. Please call 1-888-984-8899 and let them know. They will go though some more troubleshooting which I am sure will not help and the end result should be a new drive
The PC is a ZT systems computer correct?
yes
OK great give that number a call tomorrow or when ever you have time (sooner than later) tell them you want a warranty replacement
I think we have done as much on the troubleshooting end to come to the conclusion that we have some faulty hardware here.
Thanks for your Time.
