The likelihood is that there is a small battery on the circuit board.
It will not be a 9-volt, double-A, or triple-A battery.
Look for something much smaller that looks like a watch battery.
It will probably be in a tiny plastic case directly soldered to the board.
THAT is the one that needs to be replaced.
