My photosmart R725 camera will not respond to resetting. What do I do next?
Optional Information: Computer OS: Windows 7 Browser: Other Already Tried: I have reset according to directions. replaced battery and tried to turn on. I receive the same error message I received prior to resetting.
What is the error message that you are receiving?
camera has experienced an error
Please reset your camera
The message flashes quite rapidly and it is difficult to read. I may have a number or two wrong.
Take the batteries and card out of the camera.. press the power button and release then press again for 5 seconds. Wait 20 minutes with the card and batteries out of the camera. Turn the camera upside down and gently wiggle the lense. Tap on it gently. Next reinsert the card and batteries and try again. Let me know if the problem is still present.
I have done what you directed and the error message flashes and the camera turns back off.
Ok if the procedure above did not work then the problem is more severe as it appears that there is an internal fault with the camera and it will need service. The camera is not going to be covered under warranty because of how old it is and the repair would most likely cost more than the camera is worth. The camera goes for around $40-60 and you would spend more on just a bench fee for a tech to diagnose the internal fault. If you really want it repaired I can suggest a repair place. However, my advice is to replace the camera with another and I would suggest a Sony cybershot with a carl zeiss lense. Let me know if you need more clarification or any other questions pertaining to your camera problem.
