When I type in the type%...., I get that there is no program associated with this.
That's okay. type the full name
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Photo Gallery
there is not any Old_pictures.pd4 or pd5. There is pictures.pd6
rename that as Old_pictures.pd6
restart the Windows live Photo gallery
I get that Windows can't open this file. Windows needs to know what program you want to use.
Are you trying to rename ?
Just select pictures.pd6
Then rename it.
Or right click it and select Rename.
I still get the same message.
In the same folder you have a new pictures.pd6

Ok, I ran this. But I still get the message that "Pictures Library-ms" is no longer working. This library can be safely delete from your computer. Folders that have been included will not be affected.
