you have Windows 7 on this?
yes i do
Do you have operating system disk?
Did you try to start in safe mode?
i haven't yet
As soon as you start the computer, please try hitting F8 key and choose Safe mode.
alright i'm trying
Please try it again.
start tapping F8 up and down immediately you start-up the computer.
alright, it moved for like a sec so we'll see if continues
i'm saying it froze while running the code in the safe mode
its still frozen
Do you have some very important data on the computer?
What is the make and model of the computer? HP, Dell, Acer?
its a toshiba satellite L675
will it fine to restore it to factory settings?
is that going to delete everything?
yes, recovery will delete.
So,if data is very important,
is there anything else
you can do a parallel installation.
This will save the data.
alright, i'll have to do that, cause i got hundreds of dollars worth of programs on their for college
don't you have the disk for these programs?
no, i got them online from the engineering website and you can only download them once
then, please wait.
We will try to repair it.
1. Please shut down the computer.2.As soon as you restart your computer immediately start hitting (up and down) F8(it is on the top line of the keyboard).3. Choose Last known good configuration by using up and down arrow keys on the keyboard and hit Enter.
alright i'll try again, the first time i tried this it failed
Please start tapping F8, choose Repair your computer and hit enter.
alright i'm there
what are the options now?
startup repair, system restore, system image recovery, etc.
please tell me about all of these.
windows memorty diagnostics, command prompt, toshiba recovery wizard
Please choose command prompt.
i'm on it
type chkdsk /r
and hit enter.
it says i can't enter because it's write protected
i did, and that's what it returned
type chkdsk /r again.
it returned the same thing
Please type fixboot and hit enter.
I will now help you to repair it using Windows 7 disk.
