How do I disable the touchpad on my windows 7 Dell 1545 inspiron

Browser: IE

Already Tried:
looking for the switch to turn it off in the control panel. Contacted you yesterday and never got an answer

Thanks for using Just answer.

Please follow the below steps to disable your Touch pad



Go to Control Panel-->Find Mouse (might have to change to View by Small icons)-->Click Mouse-->In Mouse Properties Select Dell Touchpad-->Click Big Arrow-->Click Device Select (top left)-->On the bottom of page tick: “Disable Touchpad / Pointing Stick when external USB mouse is present”

Please let me know if you have any concerns

Hi,

When you opening the Mouse button are you able to see the below touchpad properties

if yes, Click Big Arrow-->Click Device Select (top left)-->On the bottom of page tick: “Disable Touchpad / Pointing Stick when external USB mouse is present”

Also please make sure that you are not connected any other mouse

No I dont see any reference to a touchpad when I click on the mouse under Hardware and then select mouse to bring up mouse properties. I do not have my external mouse connected

Please download and install the touchpad driver from the below link

Click_here


once you installed the touchpad driver you will be able to see the touchpad properties
