My volume icon keeps saying no speakers or headphones are plugged

Resolved Question:

My volume icon keeps saying no speakers or headphones are plugged in, I can not get any sound from my laptop. When I go to hardware and sound, it simply states that no devices are installed. It also states that the digital audio HDMI is not plugged in. My laptop is a Compaq model CQ61-415SA

OK, I tried playing a piece of music via media player classic and this is what i got, it stated that (not sure if this is important btw) " the following pins failed to find a connectable filter Audio switcher out.
