Hi, Thanks for contacting JustAnswer.com I am Cris and will assist you with your question.
I have a Dell Inspiron Duo that I want to connect to my TV. - as you know, it has only USB outputs. I have found a USB to HDMI converter for $150 from s.video.com. Would this be the best solution? My TV is a recent Sony LED so has a wide range of inputs.
Hi, those converters work so so...Your PC is not outputing HD or close to HD quality because it's video output is coming from a USB (which is usually not a video output source) then converting to HDMI.Does your TV have VGA input in the back?
I think that would be your best bet and cheaper solution.
But my PC doesn't have a VGA output
The VGA will only output video. For sound you will need to purchase 3.5mm to RCA (red & white) cable. Those are a few bucks at a radioshack.
It's a laptop?
The PC I want to use is an Inspiron Duo laptop - it has only 2 USB outputs
So yes, the converter will be your available option.
