Hi I have an acer x3400. I have just turned it on and the blue light is flashing but no signal to monitor ? I can hear the fan turning. it was working fine this morning

Do you hear any beep sounds when you turn on the PC?

Customer :

a very faint beep yes

Does it show acer start-up screen or just blank screen when you turn on the PC?

Customer :

just a blank screen saying no signal abd the on button is flashing where usually it stays on

are you still there?

yes first make sure the signal cable on the monitor cable and on the back of the Tower is connected properly

yes have done all that

OK then unplug the main power cable

yep done that

then you need to remove the side panel of the tower

Customer :

ok what then please

cyball83 :

then you need to remove the CMOS battery in it.its a coin shaped battery on the motherboard

there is no battery like this inside I have checked

please check again because without cmos battery the pc wont save the bios.so its is there

it is located on the motherboard

no not there unless it is behind cd rom drive which i cant getout

That is strange.does this PC have any graphics card in it.which looks like this

so this is working on a on-board display.make sure that the signal cable from the monitor is connected to the motherboard VGA port or is it connected to a card which is inserted on the motherboard

also see if there any cards installed in the motherboard

i connect via a hdmi which is all ok plus no ards istalled in the motherboard

does it have a VGA or DVI port in it.like this

Do you have VGA cable.if so please connect and check it

no just hdmi- i know its not that as i have tested cable and on off button is flashing sll yht time which it doesnt normally

OK then there is only two chances left one is bad memory or display chip set.we can check that

remove the memory module in the motherboard.

sorry I cant they are situated right behind rom drive which I cant get out

there should a screw or a release lock to remove the Rom drive.

cant get to it I will have to leave it and take it to pc shop sorry

in hdni slot there is only one and it has been in there for a year and worked number 7

OK it seems like the onboard display chip is not working.you need to either replace the motherboard or you can add a new video card in the slot and use that
