none
Expert:  Frederick S. replied 3 years ago.
OK; please click the wrench icon in the top-right corner and select Options. Under Basics, next to Home page, click "Use the New Tab page" then X out.

The next time you open up Google Chrome, no home page will be displayed - thanks.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.
internet explororer but not 8.0
Expert:  Frederick S. replied 3 years ago.
OK; Internet Explorer requires that you have a default page that comes up when you first open the web browser.

Would you like www.google.com as your home page?

FS
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

what I would like is to access google chrome. can I accomplish this ASAP

I mostly use AOL

At one point I had google chrome on my desk top I hit the icon and lo and behold google chrome came up . No MSN no Google.com home page just google chrome.

What happened

Expert:  Frederick S. replied 3 years ago.
Hi - it sounds like Internet Explorer somehow took over again... we can switch it back to Google Chrome, though.

Go to Start menu > Control Panel > Set Program Access Defaults...

Pick Custom

Click the circle next to "Google Chrome" and then click OK.

Next, please go to Start menu > All Programs > Google Chrome, and then click the wrench in the top-right corner and select options then at the end of the Basics list, click Make Google Chrome my default browser. Thanks.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Got as far as clcking ok next to google chrome. In set program access defaults...custom

When I went to start menu and went to all programs and then google chrome MSN came on the screen with no wrench in sight.

Expert:  Frederick S. replied 3 years ago.
I'm not understanding. You picked Google Chrome yet another web browser came up? That's literally impossible.

FS
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Now I am having problems accessing Set program access and defaults but when I rechecked the page after hitting the prompt after custom it reverted out of Google chrome.

This whole scenreio is more problems then it is worth

Expert:  Frederick S. replied 3 years ago.
Are you not able to access Google Chrome at all right now?

If not, please go to Start menu > Run... (or press windows key + R)

and type

CHROME

then click OK

Does it then come up?

FS
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

START-RUN-CHROME-OK.

MSN COMES UP

Expert:  Frederick S. replied 3 years ago.
OK, so you're in Google Chrome now, but the MSN homepage is showing? Please confirm the web browser - http://www.supportdetails.com/

Thank you.

FS
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I HIT INTERENT EXPLORER PROMPT.

Expert:  Frederick S. replied 3 years ago.
I'm not understanding. When you type CHROME and click OK, chrome.exe is started. So you don't see Google Chrome? No wrench in the top-right corner?

FS
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

MSN HOME PAGE COMES UP. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT ELSE WE CAN DO. i STILL CAN NOT ACCESS SET PROGRAM ACCESS AND DEFAULTS THAT US UNDER CONTROL PANEL PROMPT.

Expert:  Frederick S. replied 3 years ago.
What happens when you try to access Set Program Access and Defaults? If you instead pick Add/Remove Programs, then select Set Program Access/defaults on the left side, does it come up then?
