I need a recommendation for how to best manage music in my mixed technical platform environment. I have a Windows PC, iPad, and 2 MP3 players (Sanyo, Garmin GPS). Probably will add an iPhone in the near future. I have a boat load of CD's to load and will be purchasing music from the web (iTunes, etc). I would like one master repository that can be easily replicated to the other devices.
Hello,Alright, so you would like a hosting place for all your music that you can easily use to put songs on the items you have listed.
You are correct. The host would ideally be my Windows PC.
Alright, sounds good..you mentioned MP3 players as well..what types are these. Also your from Wisconsin as well, very cool!
A Sansa Clip and a Garmin GPS. In a Windows environment both are looked at as external storage devices (i.e. drag & drop files to them).
Alright a good program I use for well the apple items, iphone, ipad and ipod would be: CopyTransManagerThat is a free program that does a great job managing everything all in one nice place. I know it works for everything you have mention, unsure of your gps. For that, ou can always just drag and drop the songs you would like to there.Glad I could be of assistance, If you need anymore help please ask, otherwise have a good night and god bless! I'm really not satisfied with your response.
I'd like to avoid using 3rd party freeware if at all possible. Can't standard Windows media management or iTunes be used? For example, iTunes runs on my Windows PC, I can load my CD's and web purchased music in its library, replicate/sync out to an iPad/iPod/iPhone. Just need to know how to replicate/sync out to MP3 players. Is this possible?
Yes, I am sorry I just mentioned that as I used it since I also Mobile DJ, you can gladly use Windows media management for your gps and itunes for all your apple products, as far as your Mp3 players go you can drag and drop these in bulk.
This is exactly what I am looking to avoid (iTunes plus Windows media management).
When I first got my iPad I was able to replicate/sync all of my Windows media management based music to it. If I used this as a strategy I assume I'd have issues with purchasing music from iTunes. But, then perhaps there are other satisfactory website for purchasing music?
You are 100% correct with your response.Since your Mp3 player and Gps aren't apple products you would have to use two, just because it has different programming for each of the products. Which is why I have suggested the CopyTransManager, because it does everything but your GPS. Meaning you would have to manually drag and drop those items.Travis B.
What about my question about websites that would work for purchasing music for a Windows environment?
I am sorry, I overlooked that part..you can either use itunes..but I would advise this website, I use this and its legal for buying alot of music..like me for mobile dj.http://www.legalsounds.com/Travis B.
