my computer wont let me type on the screen. the mouse works

my computer won't let me type on the screen. the mouse works: I can get the arrow to move around the screen and i can click and get the screen to open and close but can't type any letters

the keyboard is a wireless...and has been working up until a few days ago

Hmm...there are no results for that, are you sure - Did you find it on that page?

I didn't find it on the page and just typed in the Model # XXX got the answer that the troubleshooting is no longer available on this model.

 

I also changed the batteries in the keyboard and pressed the "connect" button on the backside but no luck

I see - just a few more things I'd like to try before we do anything on the computer:

Just to rule out the wireless keyboard itself, can you install it on another system besides the system that doesn't recognize it and see it works?

This will rule out the keyboard and it's reciever.
