How do I remove Net Assistant? It keeps popping up when I try to access my e-mail. Don't want it - I've been trying to solve this problem since 6:30 a.m. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Judy

  1. Are you using Firefox to access your email?
  2. What is your email provider? (Like Hotmail.com or Yahoo.com)
  3. Do you have Yahoo Toolbar installed?

I use Firefox to access the Internet, I then go to my homepage with Cox where I access my email. I took off the Yahoo toolbar.

OK. Thank you for that information.

Please try to do these:

  1. Close ALL instances of Firefox. Make sure that Firefox is not running.
  2. Open Firefox in Safe Mode. Click Start => All Programs => Mozilla Firefox => Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode)
  3. If you do not see the entry there for Firefox (Safe Mode), you can click the Firefox icon while holding down the SHIFT key. That should launch Firefox in Safe Mode.
  4. Then the following window appears:


  5. Now, click to check the option "Disable all add-ons"
  6. Then click the button "Make Changes and Restart"
  7. Then Firefox should restart in normal mode, test if the pop-up disappears.
  8. If it does, go to Tools => Add-ons then enable those add-ons that you want to use. The problem here could be a hidden add-on that you cannot disable manually from the Add-ons page since it is hidden.
