Hi,I have purchased Office professional 2010 online, Genuine and sealed for 3 home pcs about a couple of months ago, when I tried to register it online and phone, it came back with invalid product key, how can it have an invalid product key if the package is sealed and the product key is hidden, and how do I get a valid product key, Thanks.Regards, John

office programs uninstalled,
file downloading is x16-32007.exe from that site.

it must be a key which has 25 digits. like this:

are you sure it is OFFICE 2010 PROFESSIONAL?
(there is also office 2010 professional plus)
It only has Orrice Professional 2010 on the disc and the box.
additional number on the DVD is X16-11455-01

The program is going on the laptop not this desktop, does that matter

yes, it told me as the product key was blocked for activation, I was not entitled to a free download. and is directing me to the purchase site
how did you get the 25 digit key ? did they send you an email to give you the key ?
The key was inside the sealed disc box where it was on the last office program I purchased

Yes and the older office 2007 as well

this is the first time I have seen any reference to Office Professional Plus
have installed it, tried to activate online
This product cannot be activated because the product key is not valid
will try to activate by phone to see if I can talk to anyone about the product key when it fails.
Its 1.15 am now so going to bed

After it installed, I tried to activate it, same error, Invalid product key.
I spoke to a microsoft technician, unless i can get a replacement product key from whom I purchased it, I'm screwed so to speak.

I have opened a program, now its asking to activate over the internet

what happened when you tried to activate by phone? did you call them and request a key?
I got a not valid product key again,
last time I phoned customer support they told me it is a subscriber product or such and i will have to talk to the person who sold it to me
i am not sure but probably the seller is distributing the same product key to other buyers. (did you talk with the seller? what is he saying?)
Can't get an answer from him, he did ask me in a letter with the program to give him the product key when I opened the box and he would get me a new one from microsoft, I questioned this as it was a sealed package and the number would be unused. He sent me one earlier and it was not sealed and I could'nt activate it, so I emailed him saying the product was advertised as new and sealed, the opened box has a diferent product key: GKCYD-RMGW9-G26WC-XWXDM-RJHM4

yes i tried that first when the disc arived thinking he may have only used one of the 3 licences and was just onselling it with licences to spare, he sent me the new sealed disc when I complained about the product key not working and the fact the disc was used

I havn't been able to contact the person who sold me phe program, He has sold a ot of office and windows programs.
So it looks like I'm stuck, can't see any way of getting another product key if I can't contact him, Microsoft help have told me I need to contact him. Thanks

it will show you two options. please select this:
I WANT TO ACTIVATE THE SOFTWARE BY PHONE.
and press next.
do you see 3 steps now ?
yes
step-1: please select your country and call that number
step-2 : it will ask you to provide the ID number. please provide that ID number.
step-3: enter the confirmation ID and press next.
I have done that 3 times, when I supply the Instalation Id, they tell me the number is XXXXXXX and I need to get the Product key from the person I purchased the program off
are you still unable to contact the seller?
Yes my emails get returned, too many possible phone numbers in that state to try to find him
