Im trying to remove ACMON error Chameleon engine out of service.

I'm trying to remove ACMON error Chameleon engine out of service. ASUS notebook k52n series. Any advice? Can't seem to fix this problem.

You can go to Start->Control Panel->Programs->programs and features and uninstall the Splendid program.

Viet - Computer Tech :

Can you click on Start, then right-click on Computer, then click on Properties, then check if your System type: is 32-bit or 64-bit?

If you want to reinstall Splendid, if needed, click http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=K52N&p=3&s=245 , then click on Select OS to select your windows 7 , then "Utilities (26)" and download and install the "ASUS Splendid Video Enhancement Technology".

If there is still issue, Please click Start, then type msconfig and press Enter. Then click on the Startup tab and uncheck all the boxes, except your antivirus/security program. Then click on the Services tab and check the box at Hide all Microsoft services near the bottom. Then uncheck all the services, except your antivirus/security program. Then click OK, and restart the computer and check.

So, did the Splendid download. Didn't work. Now have done your next steps....still not working, the Chameleon Engine message is still there and the computer is crashing every now and again...
Any other suggestions?

Click Start->All programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore and restore the computer to any date before this issue has occurred.


Please try this: turn off your computer. Then turn it on, and right after the black screen with white text or the computer company logo disappears, press & release key F8 repeatedly until a menu appears, then you select Safe Mode with Networking (note: if there is no menu, then try the same steps again, but this time, press key F8 a bit earlier). Then login and then click below and click on Download Dow, to download and install the Malwarebytes Anti-malware software. Then scan your computer:

Hi,

Know I am back. It's like a bad dream!

Malware site was downloaded with trepitation.
But did in the end.

And the original prob. with the 'chameleon engine not working' thing, is basically a 50/50. Sometimes, yes sometimes, no.

Perhaps my teenagers other two profiles connected to my main user status are affecting? But when they log on all anti-virus, malware seem active.

I have also updated all ASUS that I could find.

Thanks and no worries on timeline for answer, I work away from the computer.

I give up for tonight. Having trouble just getting Admin to change and am working on the anti-virus to help.

Have cancelled all users and changed admin. un-installed and re-installed twice the (not so) Splendid ASUS driver.

Start up tomorrow will tell all.

All is well. Damn message has stopped. I realize this is an ASUS prob and the Splendid program, after to installs/disintalls seems to have 'attached' herself to the computer.
