How do I get rid of the flashing and fragmented pop ups

Ben :

Welcome to JustAnswer. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I'll be helping you.

Ben :

Let me know when you're ready to start this chat.

Customer:

OK

Ben :

Thanks - Do you have an antivirus program you use on the computer like Norton McAfee, or other (please specify)?

Customer:

Use McaaAfee

Ben :

Ok thanks

Sometimes McAfee can miss specialized malware called adware. This is what you're seeing.

To remove it, get the free Antimalwarebytes program, click here: http://tinyurl.com/3z3gwrf

Don't click anything on that page, a download prompt will come up automatically, then run the setup file.

Once installed, open Antimalwarebytes, and do a full scan, and remove any infections.

Customer:

sorry about spelling McAfee

Ben :

No worries

Customer:

Will try

Ben :

Add this page to your Favorites or Bookmarks to return to this chat and let me know how that went for you.

Ben :

You'll need to restart the computer at some point, so that's how you can get back to me

Customer:

Can't click on link

Ben :

Try this one: http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-105-malwarebytes-anti-malware

On that page, only click the Green Download Free Version 7MB button

Customer:

Still need help

Ben :

Sure, can you tell me what you're getting stuck on?

Customer:

It just changes color when I click on and doesn't open anything

Ben :

I see, the link.

Try this one: DANGEROUS URL REMOVED

Ben :

Actually, don't try that one

Ben :

Sorry

Ben :

That's strange that you're not able to click links, try this

Ben :

Open a separate browser window and in the address bar

Ben :

And press enter, and see if it will let you to that page (or you can just left click and highlight this, right click copy:

http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-105-malwarebytes-anti-malware

Ben :

Right click paste it in the address bar of another window, then press enter on the keyboard

Customer:

Already tried this site yesterday and didn't solve the problem

Ben :

You have to download the program and install it, then use it to scan your computer

Customer:

I know, that's what I did and then uninstalled it when it didn't work

Ben :

Hmm...that's not good, because if that doesn't work - then almost nothing else will.

When did this issue first start?

Customer:

About a week ago, mostly on the left side of screen and sometimes flashes so much I have to refresh page

Ben :

Alright, and this is on all webpages?

Customer:

sorry, I'll try to figure out something else

Ben :

I have more suggestions

Ben :

There are many things we could try

Ben :

I'm just trying to figure out which one I want to show you

Ben :

Does this happen on all webpages?

Customer:

Can get in to sites but can't interact ie musescore, can open page and select piece but can't open it and as soon a I move the mouse it disappears

Ben :

Oh, I see, then that sounds more like browser problems, or outdated flash. This is just one site?

Customer:

No on several

Ben :

What is musescore

Ben :

And are you using IE? I'll have some further steps here shortly

Customer:

This computer is just a couple mths old. It's a music notation and playback program My site is http:/musescore.org/user/1981

Customer:

Don't know what IE is

Ben :

Thanks - I see the site

Ben :

It's Internet Explorer, it's a big blue E icon you double click to get to the internet

Customer:

Are you able to play the sheetmusic

Ben :

It looks like a program you must install first

Ben :

However -

Customer:

I guess It is an e in a box with a ring hanging on it.

Ben :

I'd like you to try these steps:

Ben :

Go to firefox.com

Ben :

And look for the green download button on that page, download and install the Firefox browser

Ben :

It's free

Ben :

Then use it to go to the musecore site

Customer:

will do

Ben :

Great, take your time, I'll be here, and thanks for your patience

Customer:

Seems to have worked, thanks
