Hi, Why does my keyboard lock Fn-mode When I use my keyboard

Hi, Why does my keyboard "lock" Fn-mode? When I use my keyboard on my Asus Eee PC, I can´t use the keys connected to the Fn-key. Please help me with this.

Hi,

Please try this: click on Start, and type regedit and press Enter.


then navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

You should see the two keys HotKeyCmds and AsusACPIServer on the right.

 

If not:

Right Click on the right.
New> String Value
Enter "HotKeyCmds" (without quotation)
Hit "Enter"
Right Click "HotKeyCmds"
Select "Modify"
Enter "C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe" (without qoutations)

 

Do similar for AsusACPIServer is the same steps except:

AsusACPIServer in place of HotKeyCmds
and
C:\Program Files\Asus\EeePC ACPI\AsAcpiSvr.exe for the "Value Data"


Then restart the computer and check.

If there is still issue, was it working before with Windows 7 (did you upgrade from Windows XP?) What is the exact model of your Asus EEE PC? Please click on the bottom of the netbook? And can you click on Start, then right-click on Computer, then click on Properties, then type me if your System type: is 32-bit or 64-bit?

Yes I have the two keys you mentioned, what do I do now.

 

I have a Eee 1005P and I think 32-bit.

 

No I have not upgraded from XP.

If I restart the computer I will loose this conversation,

Hi, downloading done, do I need to open anything, Computer has been restarted. Problem remains.

Hi, I think I have installed it now, at least I got a little black screen telling me HotKeys were installing.. Have restarted and problem remains.

I have done that, But that file I can´t open. I have to choose a program in a list and I don´t know which to choose. I have choosen Global for download is that correct?
