Hi,

Does the laptop get hotter than normal or just the adapter? I guess you do not have another charger to try?

Can you remove both the charger and the battery, then turn on the laptop with only the charger connected (without battery) and check?

Does the power light (or any other light) comes on?

Can you try connect an external desktop monitor to the laptop and check?

Can you press & hold the power button for about 15 seconds?

Can you keep pressing & releasing the power button quickly and repeatedly about 10 times?

Thanks,
-Viet

Yes, my laptop has felt very hot around the pad area. I can try another charger - have access tomorrow. The power light does come on. I have tried an external monitor with no result. The power button can be pressed in but nothing happens.

Hmm, since the laptop gets hot also, then the issue is likely the laptop. Is it under warranty? Is there any beep? Can you open the back cover of the laptop and remove all the RAM memory sticks and install only one stick and turn on the laptop and check?

Just my luck. It is five days out of warranty. I really would like to leave opening back of laptop until tomorrow. Can I get back to you then? Thanks for your help so far.
