I get a popup on my outlook that says Microsoft Hotmail Connecter. This pops up everytime I get email into my outlook and when I send. It gives a send/receive errror. Emails come through but the popup is annoying. Is there a way to deactivate this?

Hi and thanks for choosing Just Answer. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I will be happy to assist you.

Do you receive your Hotmail email in Outlook or do you receive other email into that program?

I don't receive hotmail into outlook. Just recently I signed up for a hotmail account for windows live. After that is when the pop up started.

Ah OK the connector must have been automatically installed. Please do the following to remove it:

  1. Close Outlook.
  2. Hold down the Windows key on your keyboard and press R to bring up the Run window.
  3. Type appwiz.cpl and click OK to bring up the Program list.
  4. Look for the Outlook Hotmail Connector.
  5. Highlight this entry and click the Remove button.
  6. Let the removal wizard run.
  7. When the wizard finishes, reboot if prompted.
  8. Open Outlook and you should see the prompt is now gone.

I'm only seeing the Microsoft Office Connector. I don't see anything that says hotmail.

You don't see one that says Microsoft Office Hotmail Connector?

OK try this then:

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Click on Tools -> Account Settings.
  3. A window should open listing your email accounts. There should be a listing there for the hotmail connector. Highlight it and click Remove.

let me know if you don't see it there. thanks!

That seemed to have worked. It actually had my email and MAPI. Once I clicked on that it came up as Hotmail connector.

Thanks so much!
Thank you! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
