Hi, and thanks for using JustAnswer.

Add this page to your Favorites/Bookmarks first, so as to get back to me anytime later on, if needed.

Are you using an external mouse, by any chance?

yes
Expert:  Barun replied 5 years ago.
Okay. Now, please go to Start, type in devmgmt.msc in the search field and press ENTER. In the Device Manager window that comes up, right-click on your Mouse device, and select Properties. Click on the 'Power Management' tab, then uncheck the option 'Allow this device to wake the computer'.

Close out of the Device Manager thereafter, and let me know how you get on now.

Regards

I click start. In the search box I put in devmgmt.msc. Right click. Go to properties. Then I get another box but no Power management. If I just put de it will give me the device manager.
Expert:  Barun replied 5 years ago.
You are NOT following my directions carefully. I have now instructed you twice to type in devmgmt.msc and PRESS ENTER, not right-click on it.
Expert:  Barun replied 5 years ago.
When you press ENTER after typing in devmgmt.msc, a Device Manager window should come up. Double-click on the 'Mice and other pointing devices' listing present, then right-click on 'HID compliant mouse' and select Properties. Click on the 'Power Management' tab, then uncheck the option 'Allow this device to wake the computer'.

Close out of the Device Manager thereafter, and let me know how you get on now.
