Customer Question

I have uninstalled Office 2010 on my new laptop as all my documents are in 2007 and I have installed my copy of 2007. On first doing this I opened my files OK but now I can't open them. 1st I get a dialogue box asking if I want to allow the programme to change my computer and then I get another box sayiong there was a problem sending the command to the programme. Might I have left some 2010 components on my computer accidentally? If not, why won't 2007 work now? I can open all my documents on my daughter's computer which also has 2007

Optional Information:
Computer OS: Windows 7
Browser: Other

Already Tried:
I have put the 2007 disc back in and asked for a repair. It said it had reconfigured Office 2007

Customer :

I have set 2007 to run, but can't do 2010 until 2007 has finished. Is that correct

Nimman :

Yes, Finish 2007 first .

Nimman :

After that run 2010 .

Ok I'm onto 2010 but I have a dialogue box which says Can't find script engine "VBScript" for "C:\Users\AppData\Local\Temp\Fixit\offscrub10.vbs. Do I just click OK

Customer :

Yes, I'm thick of course I knew how to do it! I've right clicked on the icon but it says nothing about running as administrator. Do I open it first and then right click the run button

Customer :

Should I have done the same for 2007 fix

Nimman :

Yes.

Customer :

OK. I have now saved both of them! Shall I start the whole process again with 2007

Customer :

Just the same dialogue box that I wrote in my original question

Nimman : Do you want the following program to allow changes to this computer?

Nimman :

This is the error you getting ?

Customer :

Yes and when I click yes I get a box saying there was a problem sending the command to the programme. When I uninstalled 2010 yesterday it asked if I wanted to uninstall all components and I didn't click the box to say yes. I know I should have done. There are 2 programmes on my computer that are not on my daughter's. They both begin MSXML 40 SP2. Do I need to uninstall these too?

Nimman :

Do you have Word Shortcut on your desktop ?
