Hi,

It looks like the flash drive hardware is bad, but can you plug the flash drive in another computer to confirm?

Thanks,
-Viet

Viet, the same flash drive works fine in my other PC. And, another flashdrive in this PC produces the same result, i.e., flash Drive goes on and off immediately. And, My Computer shows CD Drive (H:). but O data in Properties.

After several more attempts inserting the flash drive the light now stays on. Also, MY Computer now also lists Removebale Disk G:. But still no data available off the flash drive.

Well, this is what I found at your link:

"We detected that you are running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 Unfortunately, this diagnostic solution is not available for your operating system at this time."

I have a new PC and want to transfer files from this PC. That's why I want to be able to access the flashdrive. Any other suggestions?

Expert:  Viet - Computer Tech replied 6 years ago.
Please right-click on My Computer, then click on Manage, then click on Device Manager. then under Universal Serial Bus controllers, right-click on each of the items below it and uninstall it. Then restart the computer and check. Also, remove all other usb devices as there may not be enough power.

Thanks,

OK. Will report back later.

Viet!

Looks like it's working OK now. The only difference from all previous attempts is that I removed the other USB connection (per your direction.), which is with the printer. Do yu think that that ws the problem all along? Should I disconnect it every time I want to use the Flash Drive???

Bob

Maybe your old computer does not have enough power (or lost some power). But you can try again with the printer connected and see if it works. Thanks.
