Hi there, welcome to JustAnswer.

Can you explain your issue more, when do you get the error code, does a specific action or program trigger it?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.

Thanks for your prompt reply. The error 1518 just cropped up this week and applies only to the web site of Liberty Bank, my financial institution. I log in with my proper user name and password XXXXX get the 1518 error message. IE stops working at another place when I try to use the bank's support section.

All my other websites opersate with no difficulty. I discussed with bank techs and we ran through a whole series of changes using Internet Options but to no avail.

Hope this helps

Yes it certainly does, thank you.

Lets take these steps:

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click Tools from the menu bar
3. Select Internet options
4. Click the Advanced tab
5. Click the reset button
6. Click the reset button again
7. Click close, and then OK
8. It will restart your Internet Explorer

Then when you try to visit that site and login do you still get the error?

Just to make sure that it isn't a browser issue (it may be the site), please go to this link, and download this browser called Firefox:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html

Click the green download button on the left and save the setup file to your computer, then double click it and install it. Once you get it installed and run it, it will ask you if you want to import your Explorer bookmarks, you may do that if you would like.

Then see if you were able to do what you wanted on the website.

Thanks,
Bernie
