Customer Question

My eMachines computer is running pathetically slow. An unwanted computer scan is activated when I turn the computer on and a THINK POINT popup appears about every 30 seconds after originally delited. That popup foils all other functions until deleted only to popup again and again. Are these problems related?

Hi, and welcome to Just Answer. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I will be assisting with your question.

Thinkpoint is a rogue anti-spyware program.

First off, please restart your computer and tap down the F8 key at bootup until the Advanced Windows Options menu comes up.

Select 'Safe Mode', boot into Windows in that mode, then go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore, then restore your system back to a date and time prior to when you started having this issue with the malware.

Restart thereafter, then download the following freeware (don't buy anything) security program, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware:

Download, run and install the same, then carry out a full system scan using the program, and remove the security threats detected, if any.

Let me know if this resolves your issue with the malware all right.
