Hi,

Goto MY Computer window ... do you see the icon for CD Drive there ?

What happens when you press the button the CD Drive ... does the tray opens up ... does the LED light on the drive blinks

Andy
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
yes, the D drive is there and the light does blink, and it sounds like it's trying to open, but doesn't. tried the paperclip in the little hole that is on the tray too and still nothing

Hi,

Did you "push" the lever inside that hole using a pin ... try it again and let me know

Andy
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Yes I sure did, not scared to break it, gave it some pressure and felt it stop and pushed a little more and felt the lever go in but still didn't work
Expert:  Andy replied 5 years ago.
Hi,

In that case there is some mechanical failure inside the drive. Either the gears have worn out with usage or the motor is jammed.

In either case, it would be cheaper to just buy a new CD/DVD Drive from a computer store as it is much more expensive even to attempt to repair them.

Just take the computer to any computer store near you and they will replace it for you.
