Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail account. Signing in to Windows Live ID failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. Server Error: 0x800488FE Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800488FE I've been getting this error for a few months now and haven't received or sent any e-mails in months . How can I get rid of this to start getting my e-mails again ? Thanks , Doug

lets test with IE
Fire up IE
Click tools>Internet Options >advanced
Click Reset >Reset again
Then Click Tools>Internet Options >General
Delete browsing History and retest and let me know

Please try this: click here to optimize internet explorer. Specifically try the following first:
Internet Explorer 7
Internet Explorer 8
Whether it works or not, I suggest to download and install Firefox browser: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/. Then open Firefox and go to hotmail.com in Firefox and check. Firefox is faster and more reliable. You can use Firefox to go to any website.
