What is the procedure for upgrading Exchange 2007 Standard to Exchange 2007 Enterprise? Is is possible to do this "in-situ"?

Hi I am one of the Experts here in Just Answer.com

The upgrade procedure is actually very easy, but remember once you do there is no way of going back to Standard with out a reinstall

To do the upgrade all you have to do is put in the product key for Exchange Enterprise and Restart all the exchange services

What is the process/procedure for the upgrade?

Once you put in the Enterprise key exchange will activate anything enterprise has that it doesnt

Omer Mushahwar :

1. Open "Exchange Management Console".


2. Navigate to "Server Configuration".


3. Right click on the server that need to be upgrade to Exchange 2007 Enterprise,


and press on "Enter Product Key" button


4. Complete the wizard.


5. Restart the Exchange 2007 Services. (or reboot the server either works)

So there is no need to re-run the setup utility?

nope exchange will now what to do once you enter the Enterprise key and restart all the services its that simple

And this applies to Exchange 2007 (not 2010)?

Yeah Microsoft actually has a KB article on exactly how to do this here
Its the exact steps I mentioned above as I did this for my company not long ago
