Motion eye camera on SONY Vaio PCG-8W1M (as labelled - I think it is a VGN-AR21S) does not work - cannot find in device manager and Skype does not find it - drivers seem unavailable. I read SONY/Ricoh (camera manufacturer) will not support.
Optional Information: Computer OS: Windows Vista Browser: IE Already Tried: google - driver whiz
Hello
We will try to help you
Go to device manger -> Double click the Imaging devices
Are you able to see any entry or any driver under that ?
Imaging device does not exist in device manager tree
In the device manager, right click the top most node and select the option Scan for hardware changes
Done - no change
Give me some time
I will search for the drivers
OK
Anybody there?
Please give some idea of how far you will stretch the term "asap" - I can't watch this screen all night.
I searched a lot and didn't find any drivers for webcam. http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/updates/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-AR21S&os=7This is the only link available for the drivers.
Make sure your model number you gave is the correct one (VGN-AR21S)
Joseph,
The machine was purchased in the UAE from a reputable store and is labelled PCG-8W1M. This code is not recognised by the Sony website. The Driver Whiz software, which I have purchased in order to resolve this problem, determines the machine to be "VGN-AR VGN AR21S. As stated, I am already aware that neither SONY nor Ricoh produce a drivers to support the Motion eye camera. SONY say they do not support Vista on this machine. I have signed up to the Just Answer website looking for a work-around to the problem. I can, myself, check the SONY driver website - and have done already. Do you have any further suggestions other than buying a clip-on camera?
I am running out of idea
I will opt out.
OK. This has obviously been of little help to me. Please advise how to cancel the deposit.
I will assign another expert.
