Hi I am one of the experts here
can you please tell me what type of email you are trying to setup in Outlook 2010 ie hotmail, gmail, mobile me , comcast . .. ...
Alright give me one second to bring up the yahoo settings
one quick question is this the free yahoo account or is this a yahoo plus (paid) email account
Ok in outlook go to your account settings
can you please tell me what you have in for the SMTP or Outgoing mail settings
ok will take minute
sure no problwm
Essentially your outgoing email server settings should match this
Outgoing mail server (SMTP) settings:
SMTP server: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Account Name/Login Name: Your Yahoo! Mail ID (this is the same as your email address but without the "@yahoo.com"; for example, it might be "brighthub2010")
Email Address: Your Yahoo! Mail address (for example,[email protected]
Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password

Ok I'll fix
Ok once you put in these settings
let me know if you can send email out
ok , be a few minutes
sure no problem I will be here
Ok, changed settings, tested account settings, error message received "connection to server interrupted, contact ISP",( same message as before). Do I need to restart computer for changes to work, maybe?
No you shouldnt have to
Ok, back in 5 minutes or so
ok sounds good
Also depending on the SMTP server sometimes changing to a port such as 25 or 587 will solve the issue as well.
Hooray, three cheers! You fixed it! it was the SSL box needed checking in "use type of encryption connection", now matches with outgoing server SSL..was "none" before , Thank you, XXXXX XXXXX!
Glad to here its working
Since we have solved the issue please click accept answer so we may close the question
Unless you have another question about your email?
