JACUSTOMER-n5nvwo53- :

Adam Lowrance :

Ok, so the wireless light on the front is orange but when you push the switch it does not shut off?

JACUSTOMER-n5nvwo53- :

Yes, that is correct

JACUSTOMER-n5nvwo53- :

No I am sorry the light is green, when I move the switch , it states no wirelee device.

Adam Lowrance :

Ok, do you know how to get into the device manager?

JACUSTOMER-n5nvwo53- :

Yes, thru the device manage in control panel.

Adam Lowrance :

Ok, does it show the wirekess card under the network adapters section?

JACUSTOMER-n5nvwo53- :

I have a controller and network adapter.

Adam Lowrance :

Ok please type what both of them say.

JACUSTOMER-n5nvwo53- :

Broadcomm 440x10/100 integrated controller

JACUSTOMER-n5nvwo53- :

Broadcomm 802.11g network adapter

Adam Lowrance :

ok, any yellow exclamation marks or red x's by the 802.11g adapter?

JACUSTOMER-n5nvwo53- :

no

Adam Lowrance :

Ok, did this just happen recently?

JACUSTOMER-n5nvwo53- :

yes about 4 weeks ago

Adam Lowrance :

Ok, just double checked. That is probably one of two things.

Adam Lowrance :

1. The wireless card itself has failed. Windows can still recognize it but it cannot turn on the radio.

Adam Lowrance :

2. The card needs to be reseated. Sometimes one of the pins can lose contact.

Adam Lowrance :

I have had 3 or 4 acers come into my work with a dead wireless card.

JACUSTOMER-n5nvwo53- :

This is something that I should take in for repairs and not do my self.

Adam Lowrance :

I would recommend taking it to a shop. They are a field replaceable part but can sometimes be a pain to get to.

JACUSTOMER-n5nvwo53- :

Thank you for your time and help.
